COME PLAYSA

Terms

Last updated 5 October 2026

These terms apply when you use comeplaysa.co.za or the Come Play SA app. They are short on purpose. By booking a court or creating an account, you agree to them.

1. Who we are

Come Play SA is operated by Come Play SA, a business whose company registration is in progress, of Johannesburg, South Africa. You can reach us at info@comeplaysa.co.za.

2. What we do

Come Play SA is a booking platform. The court is provided by the club, not by us. Your agreement to use the court, turn up and pay for it is with the club. Our part is showing you what is free, recording your booking and passing it to the club accurately.

We do not charge players a fee to book.

3. Who can use Come Play SA

You must be 18 or older to book a court or create an account. People under 18 may play in a booking made by an adult, who is responsible for them.

4. Your account

You sign in with your mobile number and a code we send to it, or with your Google account. Keep your phone and your Google account secure: anyone who can receive that code, or sign in to that Google account, can use your Come Play SA account. An account is for one person. Tell us at info@comeplaysa.co.za if you think someone else has used yours.

You can book without an account. Your bookings are then remembered only on the device you used.

We text your mobile number only to send sign-in codes and messages about your bookings. We do not send marketing texts, and never will without your separate consent. The privacy policy says more.

5. Booking a court

A booking is made when we show it as confirmed. The club’s own rules apply to it — its opening hours, its booking limits and how it treats late arrivals and no-shows.

Prices are set by the club and shown before you book. If a club’s own rate card differs from what we show, the club’s price applies, and we would like to hear about it so we can correct ours.

6. Paying

Today you pay the club directly, at the venue. We do not take payment for court time and hold no money on your behalf.

The cost split shown on a booking is a calculator. It divides the total between the people you name. It does not move money, and it does not oblige anyone to pay you.

We plan to offer online card payment. It will come with its own payment, refund and chargeback terms before it goes live.

7. Cancelling

You can cancel from the app, from the device you booked on, or by contacting the club. Each club sets how much notice it needs. Inside that notice period you may not be able to cancel online, and the club may apply its own rules to a late cancellation or no-show. Any charge the club makes must be reasonable, as the Consumer Protection Act requires.

If a club cancels, or cannot provide the court, you will not be charged for it.

8. Booking references and pay links

A booking reference, and the link each player gets to pay their share, works like a key. Anyone who has it can see the booking’s court, time and price, and that person’s share. Share them with the people you are playing with, not more widely. They never show your mobile number.

9. Friends and groups

You can add friends by their username and put games to a group. Other members of a group can see your name and username.

Some groups are run by a club and are open to anyone. You join them yourself, and nobody can add you without your choice. The club that runs one can remove members. You can leave any group at any time.

10. How to behave

Do not book courts you do not mean to use, or book for someone without telling them. Do not harass other players, impersonate anyone, or put anything offensive in a name or message. Do not try to break, overload or copy the service.

We may refuse or cancel bookings, or suspend an account, that breaks these rules.

11. Our responsibility

Sport carries a risk of injury. The court, its condition and your safety on it are the club’s responsibility, not ours. If you are injured at a venue, or a booking is not honoured, your claim is against the club that was to provide the court.

We work to keep availability accurate and the service running, but we cannot promise either. Pitches flood, power fails, and clubs sometimes double-book on their own systems. We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss.

Nothing in these terms limits any right you have under the Consumer Protection Act, or any liability that South African law does not allow us to limit.

12. Changes

We will update these terms as the product changes. When the change matters to you, we will tell you before it takes effect. The date at the top says which version is current.

13. Complaints and the law

Tell us first at info@comeplaysa.co.za and we will try to put it right. These terms are governed by South African law. You keep every right you have to complain to the National Consumer Commission or to take the matter to a court with jurisdiction.
